Iraq Veteran Battles Cancer

BILLINGS - A 27-year-old Wyoming man and Iraq veteran is battling cancer, and the community is hoping you can help Ben Barnes.

The American Legion Andrew Pearson Post 117 hosted a fundraiser Sunday night for Ben Barnes. Ben is an Iraq War veteran and a father of two young children. He was diagnosed with cancer in August 2011. Members of the Western Music Association are performing at the concert with all of the proceeds going to help Ben in his battle with cancer.

"This is a way that we can work with the community, and your average citizen can come buy a ticket and support a good cause so they can be involved with it as well. You don't have to be a veteran to help a veteran. You know it?s a community thing," said George Blackard, Commander of Andrew Pearson Post 117.
